Progress Monitoring

PARENT TIPS

HELP YOUR CHILD STAY ON TRACK

There are several ways for you to monitor your child's progress in the IB Program. Collaborating with school personnel is the best way to help your child succeed. Resources to help you do so are listed below.

EDLINE

Sign up to use Edline. You will be able to view your child's grades, absences, and you can view when your child fails a test or doesn't turn in an assignment. Visit the Edline link through to get started. You may need to consult your homeroom teacher for your access code. Contact the IB office for assistance.

TEACHER CONTACT

If you feel your child is not performing well in his or her classes, then you should contact the teachers for assistance. The IB teachers are very helpful in providing you with information for your child to be more successful in their class. The best thing to do is to contact the teacher by phone or email. You can call the IB Office at 813-276-5620x262 to leave a message for a teacher.

Many IB teachers have their own class websites or Edline pages. Visiting the class websites/Edline will help you know what your child is expected to do in his or her classes. You can access teacher emails through the Faculty & Staff link.

WEEKLY PROGRESS SHEET

Some students need just a little more supervision to help them stay on track. You can require your child to complete a weekly progress sheet so you can monitor grades and/or assignments. Progress sheets are not monitored by IB but are provided as a tool for you to use. Students can pick up a progress sheet from the IB office. It is your child's responsibility to have each teacher complete and return the form to him/her for the Day 1 and Day 2 cycle on Thursday/Friday. Progress sheets will only be completed on Thursdays & Fridays You can create some type of reinforcement to motivate your child to bring home the progress report on Friday signed by all teachers

PARENT ~ TEACHER ~ STUDENT CONFERENCES

If you have already spoken to your child's teachers, your child isn't quite following through with progress sheets, and you continue to see declining grades on Edline; then it is time to schedule a conference. Visit the Parent Conference page for more information.
