News from the College Lab
- Harvard, Princeton, and UVA will be hosting an evening program for students and parents in Tampa. The event will be held at the Tampa Preparatory School. Any juniors and seniors aspiring to attend any of these schools are strongly encouraged to attend. You can visit the website below to register for the session at www.harvardprincetonuva.com.
- The first FSU Deadline is right around the corner—October 17th, 2011! Students who are accepted to FSU have the opportunity to apply to a Living Learning Community. You have to be accepted to FSU first, and then you would complete an application to a Learning Community through Housing. Students are invited to be a part of the FSU Honors Program if you meet the criteria. Visit www.fsu.edu for more information and to apply.
- The Deadline for UF is November 1st. Students should get started on the Essay to give time for others to revise it. UF will not accept ACT scores without the writing section included.
- Students should continue to complete the Common Application at www.commonapp.org. Mrs. Dicus will automatically receive a request, via email, to complete the recommendation. Transcripts for schools on the common application are uploaded directly into the application and don’t need to be sent separately.
- Seniors must submit a College Transcript Request to Mrs. Dicus to have the transcript sent.
- Seniors must submit a Request for Letter of Recommendation in order for a letter of recommendation to be completed by Mrs. Dicus. This should be done 2 to 3 weeks prior to when the letter is needed.
