Purpose: The purpose of the National Spanish Honor Society is to recognize high achievement in Spanish and to promote the continuity of interest in the study of Spanish language, literature, and civilization.

The Society is classified as a National Honor Society and is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.

Spanish Honor Society Requirements

• Must have maintained a 3.5 GPA in Spanish for two high schol years
• Must have, and maintain, a 3.0 overall GPA

One of the goals of the Spanish Honor Society is to recognize excellence in the Spanish language. In accordance, each year, senior members who have demonstrated dedication and hard work will be eligible to apply for scholarships. An outstanding junior has the opportunity to earn the Junior Travel Award. Book Awards are presented to 5 oustanding seniors.

Due to the change in club day scheduling, SHS meetings will be held after school. For meeting dates and times, speak with Senora Rizzo or a member of the Consejo.
