From the IB Counselor
- FSU – If your file is complete for the October 14 deadline, including at least one complete SAT or ACT with Writing test score, they will include October and November scores in your decision.
- UF – Your ACT score must include the Writing section to be considered for admission.
College visits
- Plan ahead and schedule your visit
- Visit while students are in session
- Visit a classroom
- Try the food and check residence halls
- Take the official campus tour and then walk around on your own and talk to students
- Stay in touch – write a thank you note
- Ask inspiring questions, not something you could read or have been told
- Stay relaxed and enjoy the experience
- Take notes and pictures, especially if you are visiting several colleges on the same trip
- Visit schools in the north during cold weather
College Fairs
- Make labels of your name, address and email so you don’t have to fill out all the information cards
- Think about the type of college you want to attend – location, size, etc.
- Prepare a list of questions and make notes
- Pre-register for the NACAC College Fair (Feb. 28, 2010) and bring your bar code
